About Annual Shawne Merriman Coat Drive:

Every winter thousands of local community members do not have adequate winter wear.  Shawne feels that nobody should go without a coat in the harsh winter months. Over the past eight years, the coat drive has collected nearly 20,000 garment items for the benefit of the Community for Creative Non-Violence Shelter in Washington, D.C.  This year we are hoping to continue the tradition of raising thousands of garments so that community members can have a warm winter.
